Who we are
House of Prayer Ministries is a Christian Reformed church plant in Cedar Rapids, gathering people from many nations around one Lord.
Our Vision
Making disciples, near and far
House of Prayer Ministries began as a small group of immigrant families in Cedar Rapids who wanted to worship together and to become part of the Christian Reformed Church. Peace Christian Reformed Church had been praying for the chance to support a new church plant in the area, and God brought us together.
Today we gather every Sunday at noon in Peace's sanctuary, and we are working toward becoming a self-sustaining, self-governing congregation — one that does not only serve its own community, but actively extends the gospel to new ones.
Our ultimate hope is to plant a daughter church within a few years, and over time to see churches planted to the fourth generation.

What We Are Building
The five pillars of our ministry
These commitments shape how we spend our time, our energy, and our resources.
Spiritual Growth & Discipleship
As true disciples of Christ, we aim to develop mature believers for the kingdom of God. We pursue this through evangelism in our communities and through prayer meetings that open the door to spiritual mentorship.
We offer Christian leadership training to church members, visitors, and neighbors alike — because making disciples is not a program reserved for the few, but the ordinary work of the whole church.
Youth & Children Development
The future of our society is our children and our youth, and we mean to equip them with Christ-centered doctrine and discipline. With such teaching, our world will come to know peace through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Our prayer is that within five years this ministry will have fostered programs of faith that build the future leaders of our communities — nurturing them in the love of Christ and love of neighbor.
Community Impact & Service
To win more souls to Christ, our ministry gives back to those in need — the sick, the disabled, and people with special needs — through the teaching of the Gospel.
We pursue this through charitable projects, professional counseling, and local outreach. We also extend that welcome to those in prison, to teach them that God still loves them, no matter their situation today.
Infrastructure & Financial Stability
Strengthening our future goals requires financial resources. We are working toward long-term sustainability and sound resource management — upgrading our facilities, strengthening church finances, and investing in growth.
This includes plans for projects in agriculture and education, and for the establishment of orphanages in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Liberia, and, if possible, the United States.
Church Planting
As the scripture says in the Great Commission in the book of Matthew, this ministry plans to establish branches in the DR Congo, Liberia, and other states across the United States.
Within six months of opening, we already had a branch in Liberia doing well by the grace of God. Our vision is a church that is self-sustaining and self-propagating — one that does not only serve its own community, but actively extends the gospel to new ones.
Looking Ahead
The Farm & Feeding Ministry

House of Prayer Ministries is planning to open and operate a farm to empower our members and to help feed the homeless in our community. Doing this creates a Christ-like environment that we believe will bring more souls to Christ.

Pastor Bill T. Saye
Church Planter & Pastor
Pastor Bill was ordained at Potter's House Community Church in Monrovia, Liberia in 2005, and now leads House of Prayer Ministries as it takes root in Cedar Rapids. He is pursuing ordination as a Commissioned Pastor in the Christian Reformed Church.

Who We Partner With
